The Barbary Coast Samoyed Club had an AHBA test and trial May 7-8, 2005, in Lodi, California. This was from Pogo's first time on sheep. She earned the first leg of her HCT this day. The following day, in spite of her completely novice handler, she earned the second leg, and her HCT.
In August, 2005, Gracie and Pogo began taking herding lessons with Sandy Moore, in Gardnerville, Nevada. We look forward to our lessons each week and Pogo drags me to the arena when it's her turn to work the stock. We're having a great time learning this new sport and have met some really nice people and nice dogs. As long as the dogs are having fun, we'll continue with our lessons, with the goal of earning some herding titles.
